To help maintain a healthy school environment and prevent the spread of illness, Billerica Public Schools asks families to follow these guidelines when determining if a child should stay home from school:
Students must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication (such as Tylenol or Motrin) before returning to school.
Students must be vomit-free and diarrhea-free for at least 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to school.
If your child is absent, please notify the school and provide the reason for the absence.
If a student is absent for three or more consecutive days, the school may require a doctor’s note clearing the student to return. If your child visits a doctor and receives an excuse note, please provide it to the school as soon as possible.
Following these guidelines helps protect the health of all students and staff. Thank you for your cooperation!
